Over our years of working together, we have developed a rhythm that really helps us to adapt to whatever fashion week throws at us. Whether it is last-minute manicures and make-up adjustments for the runway, a sudden change of mind on hairstyles, or a change of models who all of the sudden need some precision eyebrow shaping it seems there is always something. And it is always something different. There are big shows and small, product demos and corporate events. All with a different vibe but the same demand, this is a week where you have to look flawless.

There is definitely a special energy around fashion week and we do enjoy it. It is just one of the many aspects of being centered in NYC that we love. We get to work with so many different interesting clients and businesses who are looking to create magical, memorable experiences for their customers, employees, or friends. Celebrating Moments and Milestones in 2023

As we at Primp Events bid farewell to 2023, our hearts are filled with gratitude for a year of growth in every way. We love how our mobile salon and spa services bring smiles to people’s faces, and this year we did it for an incredible range of amazing businesses, brands and people.

There were new collaborations with iconic brands like Nike, Birkenstock, CoverGirl and Byrdie. We loved re-uniting with a wide range of great partners from Sally Beauty to PwC. New York Fashion Week was bigger, better and more exciting than ever. It is always a thrill to see our work at the shows. And there is nothing that puts a smile on our faces like getting to meet and service the women of Project Greenhope. 

The whirlwind that was 2023 was made possible by our rock star team. They are wonderfully talented, truly dedicated and simply just lovely people. They are what makes Primp unique, making every event and the experience of our clients special and memorable. With them by our side we are excited for what is ahead.

The Tony Awards is about honoring the best of Broadway. And not far behind, looking great on the red carpet.  At Primp Events, we understand the importance of feeling and looking your best for special occasions. We are excited to share some stunning beauty looks inspired by the glitz and glamour Broadway’s biggest night.

MAKE UP EXPIRATION

Did you know that just like milk, makeup has an expiration date? Most days I put on eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick and never think about the expiration date of the makeup until recently when I got an irritation around my eye. I realized it was a product causing the irritation. The hardest part of being a makeup lover and owning plenty of cosmetics is having to part with your favorite blush, lipsticks, and eyeliners when their expiration dates approach. I know that throwing away your makeup when there is still product left can be painful. However, there is a reason we should not hold onto our favorite products forever. We all probably have beauty products that are at least a couple of years old, and it is hard to even remember when we first started using them. If a beauty product has passed its expiration date, your skin might react to it. This could cause irritation and redness. Bacteria can quickly spread and result in breakouts or other problems. Some suggestions for you are to:

• Check an expiration date

• Keep products in a cool, dry place that is not in direct sunlight

• Do not share makeup or skin care products with others

• Use and clean the spatulas that come with your products or switch to using q-tips to scoop out your product

• Only open a new product if you plan on using it for a while.

As a general rule, if your beauty products suddenly start to smell weird or change color or consistency, throw them away! If you store and clean your beauty products carefully, you should be able to use them for several more months. To keep your make up up to date, plan to sort your supplies twice a year, throwing away any questionable products.
