MOTHER'S DAY SPA CELEBRATION NYC

May is here and flowers are starting to bloom along with the chirping cheerful birds.
It all makes sense as to why Mother's Day has been assigned to be celebrated during this colorful month.
With the beautiful weather upon us, it inspires us to create more wonderful ways to express our appreciation to all the great mothers out there during this special time. From lavish bouquets of flowers and fine dine-ins to a fun shopping day we try our best to pick out extra-ordinary gifts that we know a mother would love.

Mothers are known to juggle everything between work, home, and anything else that we can possibly imagine. As they say, it is an endless job of being a mom. It has even been said at times that some mothers would not have a clue on how to "relax" or "take a break" due to the fact that they are just workaholics! On the contrary, this actually gives us the opportunity to set up and give one of the best gifts that we can ever present to our hard-working moms.

The gift of relaxation will always be priceless. It is something that is overlooked at times and it is absolutely appreciated whenever it is either given to self or by someone else. Pampering your mom on her special day is one of the ultimate gifts you can present her and it just goes a long way. Whether it is for your mom, your wife, your grandmother, daughter, or auntie, setting up a special day for a manicure, pedicure, massage, or reflexology will fit in the occasion effortlessly.

SPA POP UP EVENT: MARS WRIGLEY & PRIMP EVENTS

What is sweeter than being in Candyland?

This year, we had the pleasure of partnering up with Mars Wrigley during a pop-up Valentine’s Day celebration. It was such a sweet and fun event and we were just so excited to share this special event with all of you! From the colorful aesthetic to the full beauty bar, we were able to welcome guests from around the world and witness smiles all across the room.

The whimsical set-up naturally attracted attention and people easily fell in love with the concept as well as what we had in store for all of them. A mani station, a braid bar, make-up and hair stylists, chair massage are just some of the services that we had the pleasure of providing all of Wrigley's guests. Our goal was to bring the same type of joy that everyone received as soon as they walked through the door and saw what the Wrigley's team had in store for them.

All in all, this sweet retreat was such a success and it was definitely a celebration of many great things.

CORPORATE LOVE

There are many ways for companies to show their employee appreciation: half days, meals, a bonus, a trip and a day off. another effective way is a spa event. For many years we have been providing spa services for company events and it is a definite crowd pleaser. It is amazing how much a brief service like a 10-minute chair massage, mini-facial or a manicure can make such a difference. It is always appreciated and a very affordable way to show a lot of love.

WINTER SKIN CARE: LOVE THY FACE

“Love your face” is what my sisters and I would say to each other when buying skincare products, especially in the cold, dry, winter months.  The cold-dry air takes away a thin layer of oil that traps moisture in the skin.  So, here are some simple tips we put together to keep your skin healthy and happy during the frosty  months.

1.  Moisturize, moisturize…. and then MOISTURIZE.  Up your daily routine for all over moisturizing.

2.  Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.  Without proper H20, skin turns dry, tight, and flakey, making it less resident and more prone to wrinkling.  It is recommended that you consume 8 glasses of water a day.  Remember, your skin is the largest organ of the human body.

3.  Take lukewarm showers/baths and reduce your soaking time.  Hot showers and baths will strip your skin’s moisture.

4.  Use gentle skin cleansers and avoid harsh scrubs.  Moisturizing post bath while  the skin is still damp will maximize absorption into your skin.

5.  Avoid harsh face peels, scrubs, masks, and astringents that are alcohol based.  Gentler skin products do less damage and won’t dry out your skin the way harsh products do.

6.  Remember your sun block!  During cold months, people are more prone to windburn.  Windburn is, ironically caused by the SUN.  Apply sun block daily; this should be part of your skin care routine year-round.

7.  Dress appropriately for the winter with thick scarves and hats.  Wear comfortable, loose fitting garments made of breathable cotton fabric.  Avoid harsh wools or polyesters directly on your skin that can cause chaffing of the skin.

8.  Mind your hands.  The skin on your hands is thinner than other parts of the body and has less oil glands, making your hands more susceptible to winter drying.  So, not only should you wear gloves, but you should have hand lotion with you at all times.

9.  Remember to exercise. Exercise has a lot of benefits including reducing stress, which causes eczema flare-ups.  Exercise is not only good for stress relief, but is obviously good for the body. Working out comes in various forms including yoga, ice skating, or running.  Everyone’s routine is different; it is important to keep strong and have fun at the same time.

10. Get spa treatments.  Seriously—this may be a shameless plug but it is important to PRIMP!  Getting a manicure, massage, or facial keeps the body vibrant and promotes wellness all year round, especially when we are trying to fight the winter blues.

EVENT PLANNING TIPS

Successful events do not happen with luck.  A memorable professional event, whether its an employee appreciation day, a product launch party, or a VIP celebration, always begins with a sound plan.  PrimpEvents creates events that make our clients look like super stars, and we have gathered a lot of good tips over the years to make any event a delightful success.  Follow these basic event planning pointers and you'll be on your way to hosting the most-talked about event of the season!

1. Know your audience and why you are bringing them together.  Putting some thought in to who exactly you are inviting and what you hope to accomplish will help you define the scope of the event.  With the big picture in place many of the details including venue and types of entertainment will be easier to tackle.

2.  If money only grew on trees managing the budget would be the easy part.  But since budget is a reality for any business, be realistic and do you homework.  Make a list of the services you'll need and call around.  Request online quotes.  Talk to the vendors and make sure every dollar counts.  If your guests have everything they need and you meet the budget, your event will be a success.

3.  Details matter, so stay organized and use checklists.  Imagine an event that's going perfectly - the lighting is impeccable, the signature cocktail is a hit, the guests are all smiling and happy - until you realize that no one arranged transportation for the keynote speaker from the hotel to your party.  Keep good notes and make sure to check them twice.

4.  Enjoy the party!  You've worked hard to show your guests a good time and your attitude is contagious.  You can catch up on sleep after the event, but for now be the Host or Hostess with the Mostest and have a great time.
